Canadian Matthew Perry says he's sick of questions about 'Friends' movie
Published Thursday July 15th, 2010

TORONTO - Be a pal and stop asking Matthew Perry about the "Friends" movie.

The Canadian actor has griped on his Twitter account about the endless questions he gets about a possible reunion of the popular NBC sitcom, which wrapped its 10-season run back in 2004.

Entertainment Weekly recently ran a story speculating on the possibility of the show's cast reuniting for a film, the latest bit of news to encourage fans who have hungered for more.

But early Monday morning, Perry retweeted a Twitter user who instructed other fans to stop asking the Ottawa native about "Friends."

"It's over and he's moved on. So should you," the fan tweeted, adding a four-letter expletive for emphasis.

Perry appreciated the fan's message, although he thought the "'f off' may be a tad strong."

"Just to clear something up.. I love 'Friends' fans. It is just a little trying to hear the movie question 15 times a day for the last 6 years," he added in a tweet Thursday.

The 40-year-old quickly showed a sense of humour again and slyly joked about a film version of his ill-fated 2006 sitcom, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."

"The 'Studio 60' movie starts shooting September 1st," he wrote.

Perry will return to the small screen this fall with "Mr. Sunshine," an acidic comedy in which Perry plays the manager of a Florida arena.

Perry vents 'Friends' anger on Twitter
Wednesday, July 14 2010, 9:51am EDT
By Morgan Jeffery

Matthew Perry has expressed his frustration at the continued interest in a Friends reunion movie.

The actor - who played Chandler Bing on the sitcom between 1994 and 2004 - used his Twitter account to deny that a film based on the show was in the works.

Perry reposted a friend's message on his feed, which read: "Can everyone f**k off and stop asking [Matthew Perry] when a Friends movie will happen? It's over and he's moved on. So should you."

"Although the f off may be a tad strong..." Perry himself added.

His former co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow previously denied that a Friends film is in development.

Perry's new show - ABC sitcom Mr. Sunshine - will air during the 2010-2011 television season as a midseason replacement.

Hey, kids....there's a new cycle over @ sorkinverse!

It's a challenge community that is divided into three teams (Sports Night, West WIng, & Studio 60). Basically you do different things to win points and one team wins every cycle.

'Happy Endings' for six ABC pilots
Bruckherimer drama, Matthew Perry comedy also picked up
By James Hibberd
May 13, 2010, 08:25 PM ET

ABC picked up six pilots for next season, granting series status to a trio of dramas and comedies.

The dramas include one procedural and two dramedies -- a style the network has helped pioneer.

Jerry Bruckheimer's legal procedural "The Whole Truth," from Bonanza/Bruckheimer/Warner Bros., follows a unique narrative structure that shifts perspectives to keep viewers guessing.

Ensemble documentary-style dramedy from ABC Studios "My Generation" (previously titled "Generation Y"), follows a group of former high school classmates. And Michael Imperioli-starring cop dramedy "Detroit 187" from ABC Studios will also be on ABC's schedule next season.

On the comedy side, ABC has picked up two single-camera projects: "Mr. Sunshine" from ABC Studios/Sony starring Matthew Perry as sports manager and Jamie Tarses' "Happy Endings" from FanFare/Sony, starring Elisha Cuthbert, about a group of friends navigating romance.

There is a new community for fans of Aaron Sorkins Work. It is called sorkinverse .

For those of familiar to whedonland , jjverse , crimeland , etc, it is much like those communities.

For those of you not familiar with the communities listed above, basically what happens is all the members are divided into three teams. Each of these teams represent a TV show of Sorkin's. You compete in different challenges (some art based, fic based, trivia based, luck based, etc.) for points which will be awarded to your team. At the end of each cycle a team will be crowned the overall winner for that cycle.

This is a great way to find new friends with mutual interest and it has the benefit of being really fun.

Which team will win? Come and play and try to make it yours!

Matthew Perry project a go at ABC
'Mr. Sunshine' pilot formally greenlighted
By Nellie Andreeva
Jan 12, 2010, 05:00 PM ET

ABC has formally greenlighted to pilot the Matthew Perry comedy "Mr. Sunshine."

The single-camera project, from Sony TV and Jamie Tarses' Fanfare, stars Perry as the manager of an aging local sports stadium in San Diego who realizes on his 40th birthday that he cannot just get by on his charming, funny, noncommittal ways anymore.

Perry penned the script with Alex Barnow and Marc Firek. The two are executive producing with Tarses as well as Tommy Schlamme, who is on board to direct.

The project sparked a bidding frenzy when it hit the marketplace in October and landed at ABC with one of the richest commitments this development season.

ABC has been aggressive in greenlighting its pilot early this season.

On the comedy side, "Mr. Sunshine" joins the recently ordered "Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid" and "Awkward Situations for Men."
